SUMMARY
We are looking for a GAVI Programme Management Support Officer/Consultant to assist the State Health Society Bihar in strengthening routine immunization programs, with a focus on zero-dose children and improving immunization coverage. The role involves data analysis, micro-planning, capacity building, cold chain logistics, and supportive supervision for campaigns like Intensified Mission Indradhanush. Additionally, the consultant will provide technical inputs, develop cost district plans, and support training and reporting to achieve immunization targets.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Mapping of areas with high rates of immunization dropouts and left outs with special focus on zero dose children Facilitate updating of RI micro-plans to include missed out areas of routine immunization

Update RI micro-plans to convert them into more comprehensive VHSND micro-plans
-
Support State Health Society in development of communication plan on Routine immunization for the districts identified for special immunization campaigns like Intensified Mission Indradhanush and Mukhiya Mantari Saghan Tikakaran Abhiyan

Support State Health Society Bihar in timely collation, compilation, analysis and presentation of findings for each round of special campaigns for routine immunization as well as COVID 19 vaccination.

Analyze data from HMIS, NCCMIS and other monitoring data and regularly share with relevant stakeholders for evidence- based decisions.

Improve cold chain and vaccine logistics management of UIP as well as COVID 19 vaccines in the state by strengthening NCCMIS

Capacity Building of front-line workers in AEFI management and strengthen AEFI reporting and recording

Support State Health Society Bihar for preparation of JE campaign including Micro planning, supportive supervision checklist, communication planning, reporting and recording formats.

Supportive supervision for Head count survey and Due list status for special immunization campaign

Supportive supervision of Routine immunization, IMI, Cold chain and presentation of critical findings for timely decisions to achieve >90% coverage of all antigens.

Support SHSB in development of district wise costed plans to improve immunization coverage Participate in State, Regional and district level review meetings and provide technical inputs

Support SHSB in capacity building of medical officers, FLW and CCH in cold chain management and routine immunization

Any other pertinent task assigned by the supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS

Postgraduate in Public Health Management/Sociology/social sciences/ CCD with at least 10 years’ experience in public health, of which at least 5 years particularly in Immunization.

Familiarity with the field -based activities of RCH is essential

Ability to build capacity of health staff at different levels

Experience of working in the field of public health with a state/ national public health department / organization.

Good understanding of public health and health care delivery structure in India

High level of computer proficiency with specific familiarity with commonly used Windows and MS Office software and database software

Excellent oral and written communication & presentation skills in English and Hindi.

Demonstrated ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment with strong facilitation skills, ability to analyze reports, plan and monitor projects.
