SUMMARY

The Lead – Program Communication will drive the strategic communication efforts for programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role involves leading a team, overseeing content creation, and managing knowledge-sharing initiatives. The individual will play a key role in enhancing program visibility, developing impactful communication materials, and curating knowledge products to support advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and evidence-based decision-making. Regular field visits will help capture insights and translate them into compelling communication outputs.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and lead a high-performing program communications team, ensuring alignment with organizational values and strategic direction.

  • Define and implement a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with organizational goals and programmatic priorities.

  • Guide cross-sector teams in establishing and maintaining impactful program communication systems to ensure coherence and alignment with strategic

        objectives.

  • Lead and oversee the end-to-end facilitation of all communication,documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives for programs

  • Ensure timely and high-quality production of program materials, including case studies, policy briefs, advocacy content, impact reports, and process documentation.

  • Curate a repository of knowledge products that supports organizational learning,evidence-based decision-making, and stakeholder engagement.

  •  Develop compelling communication materials to influence policy change and advocacy efforts, effectively showcasing programmatic impact.

  • Mentor and train internal teams to strengthen their communication and documentation capabilities, fostering a culture of excellence.

  • Conduct regular field visits to identify impactful program stories, innovations, and best practices.

  • Translate field insights into actionable communication products that resonate with diverse audiences.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Policy, or a related field.

  • 8+ years of experience in program communications, knowledge management, or advocacy with a minimum 2 years in a leadership role.

  • Strong expertise in strategic communication, documentation, and impact storytelling.

  • Proven ability to develop communication materials for advocacy and policy influence.

  • Experience in leading teams and collaborating across cross-functional sectors.

  • Proficiency in knowledge management systems and stakeholder engagement.

  • Ability to conduct field research and translate insights into engaging content.
